A new student is required to pay the first-year annual tuition fee and othe required fees after having completed all necessary admission procedures. The annual tuition fee for the second year and onwards is outlined as follows:
(1) Tuition Fee
First Semester 292,900 yen
Second Semester 292,900 yen
Annual Tuition Fee 585,800 yen (including 50,000 yen for experiment and practical training fees)
(2) Notificaion Timing and Payment Due Date
As a notice regarding tuition fee payment will be sent to each student, a student is requested to pay the tuition fee to the designated account by the specified payment due date.
(Notification timing: early April for the First Semester, and early October for the Second Semester)
(Payment Due Date: Last day of April for the First Semester, and last day of October for the Second
Semester)
As a general rule, an annual tuition fee will be paid in two equal installments - once for the First Semester and once for the Second Semester. But a student may pay an annual tuition fee in lump sum by the payment due date for the First Semester.
(3) Deferment of Payment of Tuition and Other Fees
Upon request, a student may be permitted to defer the payment of tuiotion and other fees beyond the specified due dates if the University agrees that it is difficult for him/her to make such fee payment due dates due to unavoidable circumstances. If you have difficulty paying your tuition and other fees by the specified payment due dates, please consult with the School Affairs Section, obtain the prescribed form, Request for Deferment of Payment of Tuition and Other Fees, and submit the completed form to the School Affairs Section.

(4) Demand for Tuiotion Fee Payment/Expulsion form the University
If a tuition fee is not paid by the specified due date, the University will make a demand for tuition payment to a student who fails to pay the tuition fee in time as well as to the guarantor. If the tuition fee is not paid either by the student or the guarantor after the second payment demand made by the University, the student in question will be expelled from the University.

If the date of demand or the payment due date on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday, the date shall be moved up to the immediately preceding business day.
Students must obtain appropriate approval by submitting the prescribed form, Application for Assignment of Research Guidance, if they wish to receive research guidance at other graduate schools. However, some universities require the conclusion of a student exchange partnership agreement prior to receiving students from other universities. If students wish to receive research guidance at universities to which the university has not sent its students through a student exchange program, it may take a longer time before all the necessary procedures can be completed. As a general rule, the period for receiving research guidance at other graduate schools shall be limited to a total of one (1) year in the case of students in the Master's Course and two (2) years in the case of students in the Doctoral Course; provided, however, that the extension of such period may be granted if it is beemed particularly necessary to do so from educaional viewpoints or when any special circumstances exist.
Procedures for Assignment of Research Guidance

*Negotiate and conclude an agreement if requested by a university where a student is sent to receive research guidance.
3) Obtain approval from the Graduate School Affairs Committee [School Affairs Section]
4) School Affairs Section: Submit a request for assignment of research guidance to a university where a student wishes to receive research guidance. [School Affairs Section]
5) Review the request for assignment of research guidance and notify the University of its agreement to receive the student [University where a student wishes to receive research guidance]
6) Student to start receiving research guidance at the university
*The same procedures shall apply when a student wishes to extend the period for recieving reserch guidance at the university.

If you wish to obtain any of the certificates listed below, please submit a completed prescribed form, Request for Certificate Issuance, to the School Affairs Section. You need your student ID card and your personal seal to have a certificate issued and obtain it. Please be aware that application in person cannot be made on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and days the university is closed. The certificates issued by the Graduate School (School Registration Certificate, Academic Transcript, Prospective Graduation Certificate, Graduation Certificate, Certificate of Credits Earned, Health Examination Certificate) are provided both in English and Japanese.

■Points for Applications
[1] The requests for certificate can be downloaded from the Graduate School of Medicine website.
[2] If the certificate needs to be in English, write the Romanization of your name in the remarks space on the request for certificate.
[3] If you have not received a regular health examination, the Health Examination Certificate cannot be issued.
[4] There is a fee for the Health Examination Certificate. Please bring the exact amount to pay the fee. All other certificates are issued free of charge.
[5] Periods during which the Health Examination Certificate is not issued have been established.
The Health Examination Certificate issuance cessation periods (annual) are March 1 to March 31, and May 1 to June 15.[6] The University does not mail certificates to overseas destinations. Certificates are only mailed to addresses in Japan.
■Handling of Personal Information
The personal information, including name and address, obtained to issue a certificate is used for no other purpose than for the operation to issue the certificate.

●Curriculum Policy
Curriculums shall be formulated and implemented based on the following policies in order that students will be able to achieve the objectives set out in the Degree Awards Policy.
Master’s Course
Undergraduate students outside the medical school shall be provided with the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge in the fields of medical science and a setting for research training.
Course structures shall be designed with the aim of nurturing professionals and medical personnel with a strong sense of ethics and a well-rounded academic knowledge of medicine and related disciplines.
Lecture-based courses shall examine problematic areas in medical settings and compulsory courses shall be defined that broadly cover the fields of basic medicine and social medicine.
In research guidance-based courses, in order that students acquire the ability to carry out sound research, careful instruction shall be carried out regarding comprehension of the principles of methodology, acquisition of accurate experimental technique, scientific experimental design, and the interpretation of experimental results, with a focus on individual laboratory-based guidance.
During the course, emphasis shall be placed on instilling students with the ability to accurately document and express their own knowledge and thought processes and on encouraging a profound methodological understanding for developing strategies in line with their research objectives.
Students will be asked to deliver mid-term presentations regarding their research for their master’s theses, at which time their supervisors and other faculty members will offer critiques and advice concerning the contents of the students’ research.
Doctoral Course
A setting will be provided for interdisciplinary research and education bringing together medical expertise and skills.
Course structures shall be designed with the aim of nurturing researchers with a strong sense of ethics and academic knowledge that is abreast of the latest research findings.
In lecture-based courses, students will be equipped with academic knowledge to serve as a foundation of for conducting research activities in their respective fields of specialization.
Practice-based and research-based courses shall be offered to allow the necessary and sufficient amount of time for nurturing sophisticated research abilities for maintaining and developing the standards of medical research.
During the course, emphasis shall be placed on nurturing the abilities to define a research topic, to design problem-solving methodologies and experiments, and to independently interpret results based on scientific evidence. Further emphasis shall be placed on instilling students with the ability to communicate with other researchers, as well as ensuring students possess an outlook open to the prospective creation of new academic disciplines. Moreover, students will also be expected to master techniques for presenting the results of their research and the ability to independently obtain research funding.
Students will be asked to deliver mid-term presentations regarding their research for their doctoral theses, at which time their supervisors and other faculty members will offer critiques and advice concerning the contents of the students’ research.
